I love the woot shirt website. A new t-shirt every day while they last. They are only $10 which includes shipping. These are American Apparel shirts (because you know I am a t-shirt snob).

You make me laugh!
ReplyDeleteNo one knows more about the word “Rad” than me; I am the embodiment of the term. I will point out that I was probably a bit younger than the renowned blogger Jake Stum when I saw it for the first time... That may help justify the fact that I would not only hop on the bike and practice the “cherry picker” and other moves until sunset. However, I didn’t and would never dawn a t-shirt with the words “totally awesome” airbrushed on it. I have my limits, it never ceases to amaze me that the goofiest of us tend to rise to places of immortality, as is the case of my totally awesome friend, mentor, and icon of a man Jake. All of that aside, I have been know in my adult years to revisit some of my dreams of yester year. Yes I have had a bike in recent years, complete with rotor, hand brakes, and gooseneck nut protector…needless to say it didn’t work out the way I planned or even envisioned. I was able to do one of the tricks I did as a young boy, the bunny hop, attempts at other tricks ended in miserable, and painful disappointment. I thought i could do it...After all I was the first in my neighborhood to stand on my bike, one foot on the seat and the other on the handlebars, hands free…an accomplishment that I have hung onto as a source of strength and motivation in my adult years. I guess I’m not 10 years old anymore.
ReplyDeleteWhen life tosses me a curve, and I don’t think I can make it, I draw from the memories of that accomplishment. I cling to the fact that as a young boy I was the first to “Break the Ice” and earn the notoriety of Mr. Rad in my neighborhood. Did I mention that I had a t-shirt with an iron-on of the words “Team Rad”…ha ha…it wasn’t airbrushed. I rule, therefore I am Rad...GO CRU!
The profundity of your post is humbling to me.
